Zahra Baker, a 10-year-old girl was reported missing early October. Her remains were found November 11, 2010, approximately one month after she was reported missing. Now, gruesome details about her murder are emerging. Zahra’s stepmother, Elisa Baker claims Zahra was murdered by her own father, Adam Baker, 2 weeks prior to being reported missing. More specifically, Elisa Baker says that Adam Baker dismembered the girl’s body and disposed of it in various locations across Western North Carolina.
Judge Robert C. Erwin of Catawba County has released numerous search warrants, which provide details into the murders. Elisa Baker has been charged with obstruction of justice in the case, and no one has been officially charged with Zahra’s death. In fact, the documents that have been released thus far do not even state how Zahra was killed.
Authorities are hoping they will be able to gather enough information for a charge soon. For now, the citizens of North Carolina and many across the world are saddened by the loss of this inspiring 10-year-old cancer patient and bright little girl named Zahra.
