Michael Brea, an actor who appeared on the famous show “Ugly Betty” has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police found Brea holding a sword near the body of his deceased mother.
The victim Yannick Brea, worked as a housekeeper at a Marriot in Manhattan. She shared an apartment with her son in Brooklyn. Neighbors say they heard violent screaming and religious words being repeated in the apartment when they called 911. Marcel Brea, the victim’s former husband and Michael Brea’s father denies that his son could have committed the murder. Marcel Brea said he will hire a lawyer for his accused son.
Michael Brea is currently being held at a Psychiatric Ward after an initial evaluation at a hospital.
